Application

Yes. We verify the length of time of employment with the sponsoring company, earnings in home country, as well as, U.S. income and we obtain current contact address in home country and/or the U.S. Therefore, when applying for this card, please provide related information from your home country. Please note, you may be asked to submit additional documents, and not all requests for credit will be approved.
It takes approximately one month. It may vary depending on submission of additional documents, therefore, please plan accordingly. Upon approval, you will receive your card along with a complete Welcome Kit and card member agreement explaining the features, benefits, and details pertaining to the use of your JAL USA CARD.
You can apply if you are not allowed to have a Social Security Number due to your visa status. We may request substitute documents such as a copy of your passport or visa, or address verification.
Yes. A card can be sent to your work address if you are able to receive it. However, if you applied for your card from Japan, the relocation date must be fixed when applying
No, you can not. The cardholder must be a US resident.

JAL USA CARD

Shopping mile will be posted by 20th of the following month when a statement is closed.

Example:Mileage accumulation for a statement closed on May 15
→Shopping mile will be posted by June 20.
(Posted date will be the statement closing date.)
Please call JMB Center 1-800-525-3663 for mileage reimbursement and all inquiries other than shopping miles.
10% sector miles will be posted 4 to 5 days after you complete your flight. 5000 first flight bonus miles will be posted by middle of the month following the completion of your flight.

How to use JAL USA CARD

A cash advance fee will be the greater of $15.00 or 5% of the transaction. For additional information about Annual Percentage Rates (APRs), fees, and costs, see the Summary of Credit Terms.
Your card is blocked automatically if you press the wrong PIN three times. Please contact service center to unblock your card. If you forgot your PIN, please set up your new PIN on online account or the automated system (1-855-578-8703).
You can use your JAL USA CARD at MasterCard merchants all over the world. Some merchants do not accept cards issued outside their country.

Your payment performance will be reported to credit bureaus so that you can build US credit history. This is not applicable if you have not registered a social security number.

After receiving your social security number and if you have not registered yet, you can register it by following the process at the link below. Please send a copy of your social security card with your sigunature on it.

No. Transactions are not identifiable by the cardholder or authorized user because it is listed as a single account and all transactions appear on the same statement.
We advise seeking an alternate form of validating your identity with the Social Security Administration than your JAL USA CARD. For data security purposes, your account number is encrypted when sent to the credit bureau. Because of this encryption, the Social Security Administration will be unable to verify your JAL USA CARD account number for personal authentication purposes.
Cards applied for and issued before October 14, 2024 (PST) will be subject to a 3% foreign transaction fee. Cards applied for and issued on or after October 15, 2024 (PST) will not be subject to a foreign transaction fee. Please see the Summary of Credit Terms for more details on JAL USA CARD.

Statements and Payments

You may make a payment before the closing date. Once the payment is posted, your available credit will be restored to your credit limit. Please visit online account access to make an online payment.
If you mailed your payment, it usually takes approximately 4-5 business days to post. Please wait 10 business days and if your payment has still not posted, the payment may be lost, and therefore please call service center.
Every account has a different set statement closing date. Your statement is mailed the following business day after the statement closing date. Please contact service center to inquire on your closing date. You can check your statements online account as well.
The "Minimum Payment Due" is the minimum amount you should pay by the end of the due date. If you do not pay this amount, your account status will be changed to "Past Due" and a Late Fee will be charged to your account. The Late Fee will be charged up to $40.

There may be authorized transactions which have not been posted yet. The amount will be deducted from your available credit.
